What this code means

A specific cylinder deactivation solenoid circuit has an open condition. The PCM cannot command the lifter oil flow for the affected cylinder.

Symptoms

• Check Engine Light
• That cylinder always fires or never fires
• Engine vibration
• Misfire-like symptoms
• Fuel economy reduced
• Deactivation system may be fully disabled

Common causes

• Solenoid coil open
• Wiring harness open circuit
• Connector pin backed out
• PCM driver circuit failure
• Solenoid internal failure

1. Identify which cylinder solenoid is affected
2. Test solenoid resistance
