Description

The Controller Area Network (CAN) communication link between the Engine Control Module and the ABS module has a fault. The modules cannot exchange data properly.

Symptoms

  • Check Engine Light
  • ABS warning light
  • Traction control disabled
  • Possible limp mode

Common Causes

  • Damaged CAN bus wiring
  • Faulty ABS module
  • Faulty PCM
  • Corroded CAN connector
