What this code means

The TCM detected shift quality parameters outside acceptable range during upshifts. Shift flare or bind-up is occurring.

Symptoms

• Check Engine Light
• Harsh 1-2 or 2-3 upshift
• Vehicle jerks during upshift
• Passengers feel impact during shifts
• Delayed then sudden engagement
• Driveline clunk on shifts

Common causes

• Worn shift solenoid
• Incorrect line pressure
• Accumulator piston wear
• Valve body bore wear
• Transmission fluid degradation

Diagnostic steps
