What this code means

The ECU detected that the electronic throttle valve actuator is mechanically stuck or jammed. The throttle plate cannot be moved to the commanded position by the actuator motor.

Symptoms

• Check Engine Light
• Engine stuck at idle
• No throttle response
• Limp mode activated
• ETC warning light on

Common causes

• Carbon buildup jamming throttle plate
• Faulty throttle body actuator motor
• Foreign object in throttle bore
• Throttle body shaft seized
• Throttle return spring broken

Diagnostic steps
