RF Wheel Speed Sensor Range/Performance

Description

The right front wheel speed sensor output is outside expected range under current driving conditions.

Symptoms

• ABS warning light on
• Traction control disabled
• ABS false activation during normal braking

Common Causes

• Sensor air gap incorrect
• Tone ring damaged or corroded
• Weak sensor magnet
• Excessive wheel bearing play

Diagnostic Steps

1. Compare all four wheel speed signals at constant speed
2. Measure sensor air gap
3. Inspect tone ring teeth
4. Check wheel bearing end play
5. Scope sensor waveform

Repair Notes

Adjust air gap or replace sensor. Check tone ring and bearing.
