What this code means

The engine RPM or vehicle speed has reached the programmed limiter. The PCM has activated the rev limiter or speed limiter to protect the engine and drivetrain.

Symptoms

• Power cut at high RPM
• Speed limited
• Possible Check Engine Light

Common causes

• Engine over-revved
• Vehicle speed exceeded programmed limit
• Incorrect PCM programming
• Transmission not upshifting

Diagnostic steps
