What this code means

The PCM has detected a failure in the Exhaust Gas Recirculation system. The EGR valve is not operating as commanded, resulting in incorrect exhaust gas recirculation which affects emissions and can cause driveability issues.

• Rough idle when EGR opens
• Engine pinging or knocking at cruise
