Replace the windshield washer pump on a 2024 Tesla Cybertruck Cyberbeast. The pump is mounted to the washer fluid reservoir and is accessed from under the vehicle or through the front fender liner area.

Warnings

⚠️This Cybertruck uses a 48V low-voltage architecture — NOT 12V. Connector designs, fuses, and arc behavior differ from earlier Teslas. Treat the LV system with extra caution.
⚠️DO NOT touch, cut, or pierce any orange cabling. The Cybertruck HV system is 800V — significantly more lethal than 400V S/3/X/Y systems.
Stainless steel exoskeleton panels are unforgiving — do not strike or pry against painted/finished surfaces. Use protective covers when working near the front quarter areas.
Steer-by-wire system: do not rotate the yoke with the LV battery disconnected and then reconnected without following Tesla's prescribed wake-up sequence — recalibration may be required.
ℹ️Some washer fluid will spill when the pump is removed. Have a catch pan ready and protect the underbody and stainless lower panels.

Parts

  • Windshield washer pump (Cybertruck-specific) × 1 — Refer to Tesla Parts Catalog for 2024 Cybertruck washer pump assembly
  • Pump grommet / seal × 1 — OEM rubber grommet — replace if torn or hardened

Fluids

  • Windshield Washer Fluid — 3.5 qt

Preparation

  1. Park on level ground, place in P, engage the parking brake.
  2. Exit ALL doors with the key fob away from the vehicle. Wait at least 2 minutes for HV systems to fully de-energize, even on this non-HV job.
  3. Disconnect the 48V low-voltage battery per Tesla Service Manual procedure for Cybertruck. Note: this is a 48V system, not 12V — use appropriately rated tools and PPE.
  4. DO NOT touch, cut, or pierce ANY orange cable — these are 800V high-voltage and lethal.
  5. If at any point you encounter an orange cable, an HV component, or are unsure if a system is de-energized: STOP and consult a Tesla-certified technician.
  6. Confirm washer reservoir fluid level — if more than half full, siphon down to reduce spill volume when the pump is removed.
  7. Identify the washer reservoir location (typically accessible via the front passenger-side wheel well liner on Cybertruck) and gather access tools.

Procedure

  1. 1
Raise and support the vehicle (if needed)
If access requires it, raise the front of the Cybertruck using the manufacturer-specified jacking points. Air suspension should be set to Jack Mode via the touchscreen before lifting. Support on rated jack stands.
Cybertruck curb weight exceeds 6,600 lb — use jack stands rated accordingly.
  2. 2
Remove front wheel well access (passenger side)
Turn the steering to expose the front passenger-side fender liner fasteners. Remove the push pins and screws securing the forward portion of the wheel liner using a trim tool and appropriate driver. Fold or remove the liner to expose the washer reservoir and pump.
Do not pry against the stainless exoskeleton — work only against the plastic liner.
  3. 3
    Locate the washer pump
Identify the washer pump mounted in a rubber grommet on the side or bottom of the washer fluid reservoir. Note the orientation of the electrical connector and outlet hose for reinstallation.
  4. 4
    Disconnect the electrical connector
Position a drain pan beneath the pump. Depress the locking tab and disconnect the wiring harness connector from the pump. Inspect the connector for corrosion or damage; address as needed.
  5. 5
    Disconnect the washer hose
Carefully pull the washer outlet hose off the pump fitting. Fluid will drain — direct it into the catch pan. If a hose clamp is present, slide it back before removing the hose.
  6. 6
Remove the pump from the reservoir
Grasp the pump body and pull straight out of the rubber grommet with a gentle twisting motion. Allow remaining fluid to drain into the pan. Inspect the grommet — if torn, hardened, or distorted, replace it.
  7. 7
    Install the new washer pump
Lubricate the new pump's inlet stem with clean washer fluid (do NOT use petroleum lubricants — they will degrade the grommet). Press the new pump straight into the grommet until fully seated. Confirm it is square and not cocked.
  8. 8
    Reconnect the washer hose
Push the outlet hose fully onto the pump fitting. If a clamp is used, reposition it to secure the hose. Verify there are no kinks.
  9. 9
    Reconnect the electrical connector
Plug the wiring harness connector into the pump until it clicks and the locking tab engages. Confirm a secure seat.

Reassembly

  1. Reinstall the front passenger-side wheel well liner. Secure with all original push pins and screws — do not overtighten plastic fasteners.
  2. Lower the vehicle if it was raised. Exit Jack Mode via the touchscreen after the suspension settles.
  3. Top off the washer reservoir with Windshield Washer Fluid (capacity ~3.5 qt).
  4. Reconnect the 48V low-voltage battery per Tesla Service Manual procedure. Torque the battery terminal hardware to spec.
  5. Allow the vehicle to fully wake and complete its boot sequence before testing functions.

Verification

  • With the vehicle awake, activate the windshield washers from the yoke control. Confirm strong, even spray pattern from all nozzles on the first attempt.
  • Check for leaks at the pump-to-reservoir grommet and at the hose connection after running the pump 3-4 times.
  • Inspect the washer reservoir fluid level after testing and top off as needed.
  • Check the touchscreen for any active alerts related to the washer system or low-voltage system after battery reconnect.
  • Confirm steer-by-wire system functions normally — verify centered yoke, no fault messages, and proper response at low speed before road use.
  • Note: Cybertruck has no scheduled service interval for the washer pump itself, but Tesla recommends brake fluid service every 2 years and cabin air filter replacement every 2 years — consider checking those if due.
