What this code means

The park lock solenoid that secures the transmission in Park has a malfunction. This solenoid also enables shift-by-wire park release.

Symptoms

• Vehicle will not shift out of Park
• Park indicator flashing
• Key cannot be removed (if applicable)
• Vehicle may roll when parked
• Shift lever moves but no gear engagement
• Override button required to shift from Park

Common causes

• Park lock solenoid failure
• Solenoid wiring fault
• Shift interlock switch failure
• Brake switch not sending signal to solenoid
