Tumble Generator Valve Circuit 2 Over Current
on 2006 Subaru Legacy 2.5L H4 · AWD
What this code means
The PCM has detected an overcurrent condition in the Tumble Generator Valve 2 actuator circuit on the left-hand bank. The LH actuator is drawing excessive current.
Symptoms
- Check Engine Light
- TGV 2 erratic operation
- Possible fuse or PCM driver protection activation
Common causes
- LH TGV actuator internally shorted
- Wiring short in LH circuit
- Mechanical binding of LH TGV
- Water damage to actuator
- Connector fault
Diagnostic steps
- Test TGV 2 actuator resistance
- Inspect LH wiring for shorts
- Check LH TGV for mechanical binding
- Look for moisture intrusion
- Isolate circuit and retest
Repair notes
Replace the LH TGV actuator if internally shorted; repair wiring and free any mechanical binding.
