Description

The PCM detected a discrepancy between the commanded throttle actuator position and the actual position. The electronic throttle control system is not achieving the position requested by the PCM.

Symptoms

  • Reduced Engine Power message
  • Check Engine Light
  • Limited acceleration
  • Engine may idle only
  • Limp mode

Common Causes

  • Carbon buildup in throttle body
  • Faulty throttle body actuator motor
  • Worn or damaged TPS
  • Wiring issue to throttle body

Diagnostic Steps
