The procedure
- Ensure the vehicle is on a flat surface and apply the parking brake firmly.
- Press the START/STOP button without pressing the brake pedal to activate accessory mode (you should see some dashboard lights).
- Press and hold the brake pedal firmly.
- Locate the shift lock override - look for a small rectangular slot with a removable plastic cap on the center console adjacent to the shifter base (typically on the left or forward side).
