🚨 2025 Škoda Enyaq iV: Emergency Neutral
The 2025 Škoda Enyaq iV uses a small electronic shift-by-wire selector on the center console to the right of the steering wheel.

⚠️ Chock the wheels first — neutral means the car can roll. Set the parking brake while you work, never stand downhill of the vehicle, and try a 12-volt jump before any override: power fixes most stuck-in-park problems instantly.
The procedure
- Ensure the vehicle is on a flat surface and chocked - this is a critical safety step for EVs with electronic parking brakes
- The Enyaq iV uses electronic shift-by-wire with no mechanical linkage, so 'neutral' requires 12V power to the vehicle systems
- If you have any 12V power: Press the brake pedal, press the power button to turn on the ignition (don't need high-voltage on), then move the selector to N position
- If the shift interlock is preventing movement: Look for a small shift lock override cover near the base of the selector - pry this up carefully with a trim tool or flathead screwdriver
- Behind the override cover, insert a small screwdriver or key into the release slot while pressing the brake, then move selector to N
- If absolutely no 12V power is available: The Enyaq iV cannot be shifted to neutral electronically - you must jump-start the 12V battery or connect an external 12V power source to restore minimal vehicle electronics
- Once in neutral with 12V power, the electronic parking brake must be released (will require brake pedal pressed and ignition on)
Shift-lock override location
Small cover near the base of the electronic selector on the center console, typically on the left or front side of the selector housing
With zero electrical power
The Enyaq iV requires 12V power to engage neutral due to shift-by-wire system. Jump-start the 12V battery (located in the front compartment, accessible via the hood) or use a portable 12V power supply connected to the jump-start terminals. Even with 12V restored, the electronic parking brake requires ignition-on and brake pedal to release.
⚡ EV / hybrid warning
CRITICAL: The Enyaq iV is a full electric vehicle. Even in neutral, towing is extremely limited - consult owner's manual for maximum tow distance (typically very short distances only, under 50 km at low speed). For any significant distance or highway transport, flatbed towing with all wheels off the ground is MANDATORY to prevent damage to the electric drive system. The high-voltage system remains energized even when 'off'. Never attempt to physically push or tow long distances in neutral.
