🚨 2020 Suzuki Xbee: Emergency Neutral
The 2020 Suzuki Xbee uses a conventional console-mounted automatic transmission lever with electronic shift lock.

⚠️ Chock the wheels first — neutral means the car can roll. Set the parking brake while you work, never stand downhill of the vehicle, and try a 12-volt jump before any override: power fixes most stuck-in-park problems instantly.
The procedure
- Ensure the vehicle is on a flat surface and apply the parking brake firmly.
- Turn the ignition to ACC or ON position if 12V power is available (hybrid system does not need to be READY).
- Press and hold the brake pedal.
- Press the shift lock release button on the shifter and move to N; if electrical power is available and brake-light switch functions, this should work normally.
- If the shifter remains locked, locate the shift lock override slot, typically covered by a small removable cap or trim piece on the console near the base of the shifter.
- Use a flathead screwdriver or similar tool to pry off the cap, then insert the tool into the override slot and press down while moving the shifter to N.
- If the 12V battery is completely dead, you may need to jump-start or charge the battery minimally to release the electronic park lock on the transmission before the shifter can move.

With zero electrical power
With zero 12V power, the shift lock and potentially the transmission park pawl lock may not release even with the mechanical override; a small jump or trickle charge to the 12V battery is recommended to energize the shift lock solenoid. The hybrid system does not need to be in READY mode, but the 12V accessory circuits must have power.
⚡ EV / hybrid warning
The Xbee is a mild hybrid; do not attempt to tow with driving wheels on the ground for extended distances. For flatbed or dolly towing, ensure the transmission is in N and the parking brake is released. Consult the owner's manual for towing procedures specific to the hybrid drivetrain.
