🚨 2020 Troller T4: Emergency Neutral

The 2020 Troller T4 uses a traditional console-mounted automatic transmission lever with electronic shift lock controlled by the brake interlock system.

Expert-verified by Chris Hackleman & Jeff Moore — master technicians, 20+ years each.
⚠️ Chock the wheels first — neutral means the car can roll. Set the parking brake while you work, never stand downhill of the vehicle, and try a 12-volt jump before any override: power fixes most stuck-in-park problems instantly.

The procedure

  1. Ensure the vehicle is on level ground with parking brake firmly engaged
  2. Turn the ignition key to the ACC or ON position if battery has any charge remaining
  3. Locate the shift lock override slot - look for a small cap or cover near the base of the shifter console, typically on the left or right side of the shifter boot
  4. Use a small flathead screwdriver or the key blade to pry off the override cover cap
  5. Insert the screwdriver or a rigid tool (like a pen) into the override slot and press down firmly
  6. While holding the override down, press the shifter button and move the lever to Neutral
  7. If the shifter button won't release, maintain pressure on the override and apply additional force to the button
Shift-lock override location
Near the base of the console shifter assembly, under a small removable cap; exact position varies but typically to the side of the shifter boot - inspect the console carefully for a small rectangular or round cover
With zero electrical power
With zero electrical power, the shift lock override is mechanical and will still function. You do NOT need battery power to use the override slot. However, you will need to physically push or roll the vehicle since the engine cannot start. Ensure adequate personnel are available to move the vehicle safely.
