Fix: The internal transmission oil cooler inside the radiator fails, allowing coolant and ATF to mix. This contaminates both systems and clogs transmission internals. Requires complete flush of transmission and cooling system, new radiator, new transmission oil cooler lines (which also crack at crimps), and often transmission rebuild if driven after contamination. Budget 8-12 hours for cooler/lines/flush, add 15-20 hours if transmission needs rebuild.

Fix: The LS3 has marginal oiling under sustained high-G cornering or aggressive driving. Oil pump pickup can uncover, starving bearings. Once bearings spin, you're looking at minimum rod and main bearing replacement (12-15 hours with engine in car, requires careful crank journal inspection), but most need full short block or longblock replacement (20-30 hours). Preventive fix is aftermarket oil pan and pickup. This is a KNOWN issue on track-driven or spirited street cars.
