Preparation
- Park vehicle on level surface and engage parking brake
- Place wheel chocks behind rear wheels

- Raise front of vehicle and support securely on jack stands

Reassembly

- Clean any spilled brake fluid from painted surfaces and components immediately
Verification
- Start engine and verify ABS warning light illuminates briefly then turns off (normal bulb check)
- With engine running, press brake pedal firmly and verify it feels solid with no excessive travel or sponginess
- Pump brake pedal rapidly 10-15 times and verify pedal height remains consistent
- Perform a low-speed test drive (under 10 mph in safe area) and apply brakes firmly to verify normal operation
- Perform ABS function test: on dry pavement in safe area, accelerate to 15-20 mph and brake hard to activate ABS; verify pulsation at pedal and proper stop
- Inspect all brake line connections at ABS pump for any signs of fluid seepage
- Use scan tool to verify no ABS fault codes are present
- Recheck brake fluid level after test drive and top off if necessary
