Parts

  • H11 low beam headlight bulb × 2 — H11 55W halogen
  • 9005 high beam headlight bulb × 2 — 9005 65W halogen

Preparation

  1. Park vehicle on level surface and turn off ignition
  2. Allow headlights to cool if recently used
  3. Open and secure hood
  4. Identify which bulbs need replacement - low beam (inner position) or high beam (outer position)

Procedure

  1. 1
    Access driver side headlight assembly
Locate the headlight assembly access area behind the driver side headlight. You will see two bulb sockets protruding from the back of the headlight housing - the inner socket is the low beam (H11), the outer socket is the high beam (9005).
  2. 2
Remove driver side low beam bulb
Rotate the low beam bulb socket (inner position) counterclockwise approximately 1/4 turn and pull straight out from the housing. Disconnect the electrical connector by pressing the release tab and pulling away from the bulb socket. Remove the old bulb from the socket by pulling straight out.
  3. 3
Install new driver side low beam bulb
Using a clean cloth or while wearing gloves, insert the new H11 bulb into the socket without touching the glass. Connect the electrical connector to the bulb socket until it clicks. Insert the bulb socket assembly back into the headlight housing and rotate clockwise 1/4 turn to lock in place.
  4. 4
Remove driver side high beam bulb
Rotate the high beam bulb socket (outer position) counterclockwise approximately 1/4 turn and pull straight out from the housing. Disconnect the electrical connector by pressing the release tab and pulling away from the bulb socket. Remove the old bulb from the socket by pulling straight out.
  5. 5
Install new driver side high beam bulb
Using a clean cloth or while wearing gloves, insert the new 9005 bulb into the socket without touching the glass. Connect the electrical connector to the bulb socket until it clicks. Insert the bulb socket assembly back into the headlight housing and rotate clockwise 1/4 turn to lock in place.
  6. 6
    Access passenger side headlight assembly
Move to the passenger side of the vehicle. Locate the headlight assembly access area behind the passenger side headlight. The bulb socket arrangement is the same - inner socket is low beam (H11), outer socket is high beam (9005).
  7. 7
Remove passenger side low beam bulb
Rotate the low beam bulb socket (inner position) counterclockwise approximately 1/4 turn and pull straight out from the housing. Disconnect the electrical connector by pressing the release tab and pulling away from the bulb socket. Remove the old bulb from the socket by pulling straight out.
  8. 8
Install new passenger side low beam bulb
Using a clean cloth or while wearing gloves, insert the new H11 bulb into the socket without touching the glass. Connect the electrical connector to the bulb socket until it clicks. Insert the bulb socket assembly back into the headlight housing and rotate clockwise 1/4 turn to lock in place.
  9. 9
Remove passenger side high beam bulb
Rotate the high beam bulb socket (outer position) counterclockwise approximately 1/4 turn and pull straight out from the housing. Disconnect the electrical connector by pressing the release tab and pulling away from the bulb socket. Remove the old bulb from the socket by pulling straight out.
  10. 10
Install new passenger side high beam bulb
Using a clean cloth or while wearing gloves, insert the new 9005 bulb into the socket without touching the glass. Connect the electrical connector to the bulb socket until it clicks. Insert the bulb socket assembly back into the headlight housing and rotate clockwise 1/4 turn to lock in place.

Reassembly

  1. Ensure all bulb sockets are fully seated and rotated to locked position
  2. Verify all electrical connectors are securely attached

Verification

  • Turn ignition to ON position without starting engine
  • Test low beams by turning headlight switch to low beam position - verify both headlights illuminate
  • Test high beams by switching to high beam position - verify both headlights illuminate
  • Turn off headlights and ignition
  • Close hood securely
