Preparation

    Apply a thin, even coating of thread sealant to the threads of the new oil pressure sensor. Do not apply sealant to the first 1-2 threads to prevent it from being pushed into the oil passage.     Thread the new sensor into the engine block by hand, turning clockwise. Ensure it threads smoothly without cross-threading.
