Wiper Blade Replacement

Replace windshield wiper blades on 1994-2007 Dodge Ram 2500 to restore proper windshield clearing performance.

• Driver side wiper blade × 1 — 22-inch blade (verify vehicle-specific length)
• Passenger side wiper blade × 1 — 22-inch blade (verify vehicle-specific length)

Preparation

1. Park vehicle on level surface
2. Turn ignition off and remove key
3. Lift wiper arms away from windshield into service position

Procedure

1. 1

   Position driver side wiper arm
   Lift the driver side wiper arm away from the windshield until it locks in the raised position. The arm should stay perpendicular to the hood without assistance.

   Remove driver side wiper blade
   Locate the release tab on the wiper blade assembly where it connects to the wiper arm hook. Press or pull the tab while sliding the blade assembly down and away from the hook end of the wiper arm. The blade should slide off the J-hook connection.

   Install new driver side wiper blade
   Align the new wiper blade connector with the J-hook on the wiper arm. Slide the blade assembly onto the hook until you hear or feel a positive click, indicating the retention tab has engaged. Gently tug on the blade to verify it is securely locked.

   Lower driver side wiper arm
   Carefully guide the wiper arm back down to the windshield. Do not allow it to snap down forcefully as this can damage the glass or wiper mechanism.

   Position passenger side wiper arm
   Lift the passenger side wiper arm away from the windshield until it locks in the raised position.

   Remove passenger side wiper blade
   Press or pull the release tab on the passenger side blade assembly while sliding it down and off the wiper arm J-hook connection.

   Install new passenger side wiper blade
   Slide the new passenger side blade assembly onto the wiper arm hook until the retention tab clicks into place. Verify secure attachment by tugging gently on the blade.

   Lower passenger side wiper arm
   Carefully lower the passenger side wiper arm back to its rest position on the windshield.

Reassembly

1. Ensure both wiper blades are properly seated on windshield in park position
2. Verify no packaging materials or protective covers remain on new blades

Verification

• Turn ignition to accessory or run position and activate wipers at low speed to confirm smooth operation
• Test wipers at multiple speeds to verify no chattering, streaking, or unusual noise
• Spray windshield washer fluid and verify blades clear fluid effectively across entire windshield
• Visually inspect that both blades make full contact with windshield throughout wiper stroke
