Warnings

ℹ️Avoid touching the glass portion of the new bulb with bare hands; oils from skin can reduce bulb life. Use a clean cloth or the bulb packaging.

Preparation
- Park vehicle on level ground and engage parking brake
- Turn off ignition and all lights
- Allow front turn signal bulbs to cool if vehicle was recently operated
- Open hood and secure with prop rod
Procedure
- 1Access front wheelwell areaTurn the front wheel outward on the side being serviced to gain access to the wheelwell liner behind the front lamp assembly. Remove any wheelwell liner fasteners as needed to reach the bulb socket.
- 2Locate turn signal bulb socketLocate the turn signal bulb socket at the rear of the front lamp assembly, accessed from behind the front fascia. Depending on access, you may need to reach in through the wheelwell or remove the fascia/liner fasteners to reach the socket. Use a work light to identify the socket and wiring harness.
- 3Disconnect bulb socketGrasp the turn signal socket firmly and rotate it counterclockwise approximately 1/4 turn (about 45 degrees) to unlock it from the headlight housing. Pull the socket straight out from the housing. The socket and bulb will come out as an assembly.
- 4Remove old bulbWith the socket removed, grasp the wedge-base bulb and pull it straight out of the socket. Inspect the socket contacts for corrosion or damage; clean with electrical contact cleaner if necessary. - 5Install new bulbInsert the new 3157A bulb into the socket, aligning the wedge base with the socket contacts and pushing it straight in until fully seated. Push the bulb in and rotate clockwise until it locks into place. Ensure the bulb is fully seated and secure in the socket.
- 6Reinstall socket assemblyInsert the bulb socket assembly back into the headlight housing, aligning the tabs on the socket with the slots in the housing. Push the socket in fully and rotate clockwise approximately 1/4 turn until it locks into position. Verify the socket is fully seated and cannot be pulled out without rotating.
Reassembly
- Return front wheel to straight position if turned outward for access
- Close hood and verify it latches securely
Verification
- Turn ignition to ON position (engine does not need to run)
- Activate turn signals on the side where bulb was replaced and verify proper flashing operation
- Activate hazard lights and confirm both front turn signals flash at normal rate
- Walk around vehicle and visually inspect that the new bulb illuminates with proper amber color
- Verify turn signal indicator on instrument cluster flashes at normal rate (not rapid flash indicating bulb failure)
