Engine Mounts - All

Complete replacement of all engine and transmission mounts on the 2011-2014 Ford F-150 with 5.0L Coyote V8, including left and right engine mounts, front mount, and transmission mount.

• Left engine mount assembly × 1 — Use OEM specification
• Right engine mount assembly × 1 — Use OEM specification
• Front engine mount assembly × 1 — Use OEM specification
• Transmission mount assembly × 1 — Use OEM specification

Preparation

1. Park vehicle on level surface and engage parking brake
2. Disconnect negative battery cable
3. Raise front of vehicle and support on jack stands at frame rails
4. Remove engine skid plate or belly pan if equipped
5. Spray all mount bolts with penetrating oil and allow to soak
6. Install engine support bar across inner fenders or position overhead hoist with load leveler
7. Take weight off engine mounts by slightly lifting engine with support equipment

Procedure

1. 1

   Support engine weight
   Using engine support bar or overhead hoist, lift engine approximately 1/4 inch to unload all mounts. Engine should be stable and level. Verify engine does not contact firewall or radiator support. Adjust as needed to maintain clearance.
   ⚠️Ensure support equipment is properly positioned and locked before proceeding. Engine must not shift during mount replacement.

   Remove right engine mount (passenger side)
   From above, remove the nut from the mount through-bolt. From below, remove the through-bolt. Remove the three engine mount-to-block bolts from the cylinder head side. Remove the mount-to-frame bolts from the frame bracket. Remove mount assembly from vehicle.
   Torque spec

   Mount Through Bolt110 Nm (81 lb-ft)

   Engine Mount-to-Block Bolts65 Nm (48 lb-ft)

   Engine Mount-to-Frame Bolts75 Nm (55 lb-ft)

   Install new right engine mount
   Position new right mount to frame bracket and install mount-to-frame bolts finger-tight. Align mount to engine block and install engine mount-to-block bolts finger-tight. Install through-bolt and nut finger-tight. Torque mount-to-frame bolts first, then engine mount-to-block bolts, then through-bolt to specification.
   Torque spec

   Mount Through Bolt110 Nm (81 lb-ft)

   Remove left engine mount (driver side)
   From above, remove the nut from the mount through-bolt. From below, remove the through-bolt. Remove the three engine mount-to-block bolts. Remove the mount-to-frame bolts securing mount to frame bracket. Remove mount assembly. Note position of any heat shields for reinstallation.
   Torque spec

   Engine Mount-to-Frame Bolts75 Nm (55 lb-ft)

   Install new left engine mount
   Position new left mount to frame bracket with any heat shields in original location. Install mount-to-frame bolts finger-tight. Align mount to engine block and install engine mount-to-block bolts finger-tight. Install through-bolt and nut finger-tight. Torque mount-to-frame bolts first, then engine mount-to-block bolts, then through-bolt to specification.

   Access front engine mount
   The front mount is located at the front of the oil pan. May require removal of lower radiator shield or crossmember access panel depending on production date. Position floor jack with wood block under oil pan to provide additional support if needed.

   Remove front engine mount
   Remove through-bolt securing engine to mount. Remove mounting bolts securing mount to crossmember or subframe. Remove mount assembly downward from vehicle. Inspect mount bracket on oil pan for cracks or damage.
   Torque spec

   Through-Bolt85 Nm (63 lb-ft)

   Mounting Bolts59 Nm (44 lb-ft)

   Install new front engine mount
   Position new front mount to crossmember and install mounting bolts finger-tight. Align mount to engine bracket and install through-bolt finger-tight. Torque mounting bolts to crossmember first, then torque through-bolt to specification.

   Through-Bolt85 Nm (63 lb-ft)

   Support transmission
   Position floor jack with wood block under transmission pan. Raise jack to just contact transmission and take slight weight off transmission mount. Do not raise transmission excessively.
   ⚠Use wood block between jack and transmission pan to distribute load and prevent pan damage.

    Remove transmission mount
    Remove transmission mount bolts securing mount to crossmember. Remove bolts securing mount bracket to transmission. Lower jack slightly and remove mount assembly. Inspect transmission mount bracket for damage.

    Transmission Mount Bolts65 Nm (48 lb-ft)

    Install new transmission mount
    Position new transmission mount to crossmember and install bolts finger-tight. Raise transmission with jack to align mount bracket, then install transmission mount bolts finger-tight. Torque all transmission mount bolts to specification.

    Lower engine to final position
    Carefully lower engine using support equipment until engine weight is fully on all four mounts. Remove engine support bar or hoist. Remove floor jack from under transmission. Verify all mount bolts are torqued and no tools remain in engine compartment.

    Reinstall shields and panels
    Reinstall engine skid plate or belly pan using appropriate fasteners. Reinstall any radiator shields or access panels removed during procedure. Use cover bolts torque specification if applicable.
    Torque spec

    Cover Bolts20 Nm (15 lb-ft)

Reassembly

1. Reconnect negative battery cable
2. Lower vehicle from jack stands
3. Start engine and verify no unusual vibrations or movement
4. Inspect all mount locations for proper seating and alignment

Verification

• With engine running, verify engine sits level and centered in engine bay
• Check for excessive engine movement during gear engagement (transmission in Drive, then Reverse with brake applied)
• Perform test drive and verify no vibrations at idle, acceleration, or deceleration
• Re-check all mount bolt torque after first 50 miles of operation
• Visually inspect mount locations for proper alignment and no contact with frame or body
