Complete 30,000 mile maintenance service for 2018-2024 Honda Accord 1.5L Turbo including oil change, filter replacements, and fluid inspections per Honda maintenance schedule.

Fluids

• Honda Genuine 0W-20 engine oil — 4 qt

Preparation

1. Park vehicle on level surface and engage parking brake.
2. Run engine for 3-5 minutes to warm oil, then shut off and wait 5 minutes for oil to settle.
3. Raise front of vehicle with jack and secure on jack stands at manufacturer-approved lift points.
4. Remove plastic engine undertray if equipped by removing push clips and screws.
5. Gather all replacement parts and fluids before beginning work.

Procedure

1. 1

   Drain engine oil
   Locate the oil drain plug on the passenger side of the oil pan. Position drain pan underneath. Using a 17mm socket, loosen and remove the drain plug. Allow oil to drain completely for at least 10 minutes. Inspect the drain plug threads and sealing surface for damage. Remove and discard the old crush washer from the drain plug.

   Remove oil filter
   Locate the oil filter on the rear of the engine block, accessible from underneath. Position drain pan to catch residual oil. Use oil filter wrench to turn filter counterclockwise and remove. Ensure the old filter gasket comes off with the filter and is not stuck to the engine block mounting surface. Clean the mounting surface with a shop towel.

   Install new oil filter
   Apply a thin film of clean engine oil to the rubber gasket on the new filter. Thread the new filter onto the mounting boss by hand, turning clockwise. Once the gasket contacts the mounting surface, tighten an additional 3/4 turn by hand only. Do not use the filter wrench for installation.

   Install drain plug with new washer
   Install a new crush washer onto the drain plug. Thread the drain plug into the oil pan by hand to avoid cross-threading. Once hand-tight, use a 17mm socket and torque wrench to tighten to specification.

   Fill engine with new oil
   Lower vehicle to ground. Locate the oil filler cap on top of the engine (marked with oil can symbol). Remove cap and insert funnel. Pour in 3.5 quarts of Honda Genuine 0W-20 oil initially. Wait 1 minute for oil to settle, then add remaining oil in small increments while checking dipstick until level reaches the upper mark. Install oil filler cap.

   Check for leaks and verify oil level
   Start engine and let idle for 2 minutes. Observe oil pressure indicator light should extinguish within 2-3 seconds. Shut off engine and wait 2 minutes. Check underneath vehicle for leaks at drain plug and filter. Check dipstick and adjust oil level if necessary to upper mark.

   Replace engine air filter
   Open hood and locate air filter housing on driver's side of engine bay. Release four metal clips securing the housing cover. Lift cover and remove old air filter element. Clean any debris from housing with a shop towel. Install new filter ensuring proper orientation with seal facing down. Close cover and secure all four clips.

   Replace cabin air filter
   Open glove box and remove contents. Press inward on both sides of glove box to release stoppers and lower completely. Remove cabin air filter cover by pressing release tabs. Slide out old cabin air filter, noting airflow direction arrow. Insert new filter with airflow arrow pointing down toward floor. Reinstall cover and return glove box to normal position.

   Inspect all fluid levels
   Check coolant level in overflow reservoir (should be between MIN and MAX marks when cold). Check brake fluid level in master cylinder reservoir (should be between MIN and MAX). Check windshield washer fluid and top off if needed. Note: This vehicle has electric power steering and requires no fluid check.

    Visual inspection
    Inspect drive belt for cracks, fraying, or glazing. Check battery terminals for corrosion. Inspect all visible hoses and connections for leaks or deterioration. Check tire pressures and adjust to specification on door jamb sticker (typically 32-33 PSI cold). Visually inspect tires for uneven wear or damage.

Reassembly

1. Reinstall plastic engine undertray if removed, ensuring all clips and fasteners are secure.
2. Properly dispose of used oil and filter at an approved recycling facility.
3. Reset maintenance reminder light: Turn ignition to ON (do not start). Press and hold TRIP button until oil life display appears. Press and hold TRIP button again until oil life begins to blink. Press and hold TRIP button once more until oil life resets to 100%.

Verification

• Verify oil level is at upper mark on dipstick with engine off and vehicle level.
• Confirm no oil leaks present at drain plug or filter after test drive.
• Verify maintenance reminder light has been reset to 100%.
• Confirm all air filter housings are properly secured with no loose clips.
• Test drive vehicle 5-10 miles and recheck for leaks and proper oil pressure.
