Preparation

Procedure

Compressor replacement: subtract oil in new compressor from 110ml (typically add 50-70ml if new compressor has 60ml). Condenser replacement: add 20ml. Evaporator replacement: add 30ml. - 3Disconnect Suction LineUsing the AC line disconnect tool, carefully disconnect the low-pressure suction line from the compressor. This is the larger diameter line. Immediately cap both the line and compressor port to prevent moisture and contamination entry. Inspect the O-ring for damage.
- 4Drain Existing OilRotate the compressor clutch by hand several times while holding the compressor upright over a clean drain pan. Allow any existing oil to drain from the suction port. Measure the amount collected. If more than 90ml drains out, there may be a system issue requiring diagnosis.
- 5Prepare New OilOpen the sealed PAG 46 (ND-11) oil container. Measure the exact amount of fresh oil needed using a clean graduated syringe or measuring cup. Work quickly to minimize moisture absorption.
- 6Add Oil to CompressorPour the measured PAG oil slowly into the suction port of the compressor. Rotate the compressor clutch by hand 10-15 times to distribute oil internally through the compressor. Ensure oil does not overflow from the port.
- 7Install New O-RingsRemove old O-ring from the suction line fitting. Install a new O-ring and lightly coat it with fresh PAG oil. Ensure the O-ring is properly seated in the groove without twisting or pinching.
