Replace the fog light bulb on a 2018-2024 Honda Accord 1.5L Turbo by accessing the bulb assembly from underneath the front bumper.

Warnings

Allow the fog light to cool for at least 10 minutes before attempting bulb replacement to avoid burns.
Do not touch the glass portion of the new halogen bulb with bare hands as oils from skin will cause premature bulb failure. Use clean gloves or hold by the plastic base only.
ℹ️Vehicle does not need to be lifted for this procedure. Access is available from underneath the front bumper with the vehicle on level ground.

Parts

  • H11 fog light bulb × 1 — H11 halogen bulb or Use OEM specification

Preparation

  1. Park vehicle on level ground and apply parking brake
  2. Place wheel chocks behind rear wheels
  3. Turn off ignition and remove key
  4. Allow fog lights to cool if recently used (minimum 10 minutes)
  5. Put on clean gloves to handle new bulb

Procedure

  1. 1
    Access the fog light housing
From underneath the front bumper on the affected side, locate the fog light housing. You may need to turn the steering wheel fully to the opposite side for easier access. The fog light is positioned in the lower front bumper near the outer corner.
  2. 2
    Locate the bulb access cover
Behind the fog light housing, locate the circular rubber dust cover or plastic access cover. This protects the bulb socket from moisture and debris.
  3. 3
    Remove the access cover
If equipped with a rubber dust cover, pull it off by gripping the tab and pulling straight back. If equipped with a plastic cover, rotate it counterclockwise approximately 1/4 turn and remove.
  4. 4
    Disconnect the electrical connector
Locate the electrical connector attached to the back of the fog light bulb. Press the release tab and pull the connector straight off the bulb base. Do not pull on the wiring harness.
  5. 5
    Remove the old bulb
The bulb is held by a twist-lock mechanism. Rotate the bulb socket counterclockwise approximately 1/4 to 1/3 turn until it releases, then pull the bulb and socket assembly straight out of the housing.
  6. 6
    Install the new bulb
Wearing clean gloves, remove the new H11 bulb from its packaging, handling only the plastic base. Insert the new bulb into the fog light housing, aligning the tabs with the slots. Rotate clockwise approximately 1/4 to 1/3 turn until it locks into place with an audible click.
  7. 7
    Reconnect the electrical connector
Push the electrical connector onto the back of the new bulb base until you hear or feel it click into place. Gently tug to verify the connection is secure.
  8. 8
    Reinstall the access cover
Replace the rubber dust cover by pressing it firmly into place over the back of the bulb assembly, ensuring it is fully seated. If equipped with a plastic cover, align it and rotate clockwise to lock.

Reassembly

  1. Ensure the access cover is fully sealed to prevent moisture intrusion
  2. Verify the electrical connector is fully engaged and locked
  3. Turn steering wheel back to center position if it was turned for access

Verification

  • Turn the ignition to ON position (engine does not need to be running)
  • Activate the fog lights using the dashboard switch or light stalk
  • Visually confirm both fog lights illuminate with equal brightness
  • Turn fog lights off and remove key
  • Inspect the installation area to ensure no tools or parts were left behind
