Turn Signal Bulb - Front

Replace the front turn signal bulb on a 2018-2024 Honda Accord 1.5L Turbo by accessing the bulb socket from behind the headlight assembly in the engine bay.

• Front turn signal bulb (amber) × 1 — 7440A or 7440NA amber bulb, verify by owner's manual

Preparation

1. Park vehicle on level surface and turn off ignition
2. Allow headlight and turn signal bulbs to cool if recently used
3. Open hood and secure with prop rod

Procedure

1. 1

   Locate turn signal bulb socket
   From the engine bay, look behind the headlight assembly on the side requiring bulb replacement. The turn signal socket is typically positioned toward the outer/fender side of the headlight assembly, separate from the main headlight bulb holder. It will have a wiring harness connector attached.

   Disconnect bulb socket wiring
   Press the release tab on the wiring harness connector and pull straight back to disconnect the electrical connector from the turn signal bulb socket. Do not pull on the wires themselves.

   Remove bulb socket from housing
   Grasp the bulb socket firmly and rotate it counterclockwise approximately 1/4 turn (90 degrees) until it releases from the locked position. Pull the socket straight out from the headlight housing.

   Remove failed bulb
   With the socket removed, push the bulb gently into the socket while rotating counterclockwise to release it from the bayonet mount. Pull the old bulb straight out of the socket. Inspect the socket terminals for any corrosion or damage.

   Install new bulb
   Using a clean cloth or wearing gloves, handle the new bulb by its base only. Align the bulb pins with the socket slots and insert the bulb. Push in gently while rotating clockwise until the bulb locks into place in the socket. Ensure the bulb is fully seated.

   Reinstall socket into housing
   Insert the bulb socket assembly straight into the headlight housing opening, aligning the tabs. Rotate the socket clockwise approximately 1/4 turn until it locks securely in place. The socket should be snug and not rotate freely.

   Reconnect electrical connector
   Push the wiring harness connector onto the bulb socket until you hear or feel a positive click, indicating the connector is fully seated and locked.

Reassembly

1. No disassembly was required beyond the bulb socket removal

Verification

• Turn the ignition to ON position (engine does not need to be running)
• Activate the turn signal on the side where bulb was replaced and verify the indicator on the dash flashes at normal rate
• Exit vehicle and visually confirm the front turn signal is flashing amber with proper brightness
• Test hazard lights to confirm both front turn signals function correctly
• Close hood securely
