Speaker - Door

Remove and replace door-mounted speaker(s) in the 2017 Maserati Levante, including door panel removal and electrical connector service.

• Door panel clips (if damaged) × 1 — Use OEM replacement clips

Preparation

1. Park vehicle on level surface and engage parking brake
2. Lower window completely to prevent glass interference during door panel removal
3. Inspect door panel clips and order replacements if any prior damage is visible
4. Have replacement speaker available and verify impedance matches OEM specification (typically 4 ohms)
5. Protect door sill and adjacent trim with masking tape to prevent scratching during panel removal

Procedure

   Remove door pull handle trim
   Locate the small cover cap at the rear of the interior door pull handle. Carefully pry out the cover using a trim tool to expose the T25 Torx screw. Remove the screw and gently pull the door pull trim forward and away from the door panel.

   Remove door panel fasteners
   Remove all T20 Torx screws around the perimeter of the door panel. Typical locations include the bottom edge (2-3 screws), behind door pull handle area (1 screw), and near the door release lever. On Levante, there is typically one screw hidden beneath a small trim cap near the mirror triangle trim.

   Release door panel clips
   Starting at the bottom rear corner of the door panel, insert trim removal tools behind the panel and gently pry outward to release the retaining clips. Work your way around the perimeter, releasing each clip sequentially. The Levante uses approximately 8-10 clips around the door panel edge. Pull panel outward firmly but steadily once all clips are released.

   Disconnect electrical connectors
   With the door panel pulled away from the door frame, locate all electrical connectors behind the panel. Disconnect the door lock switch connector, window switch connector, and ambient lighting connector (if equipped) by pressing the release tabs and pulling straight out. Support the door panel weight carefully during this step.

   Remove door panel completely
   Lift the door panel upward to disengage it from the window sill trim, then remove it completely from the door. Set the panel on a protected surface with the interior side facing up to avoid scratching the leather or trim.

   Access speaker mounting location
   Peel back the vapor barrier membrane carefully at the speaker location if present. The speaker is typically mounted in the lower portion of the door (woofer) or in the sail panel area (tweeter). Locate the speaker mounting screws or bolts.

   Disconnect speaker electrical connector
   Press the locking tab on the speaker connector and pull straight out to disconnect. Note the connector orientation and wire routing for reinstallation.

   Remove speaker mounting fasteners
   Remove the speaker mounting screws (typically 3-4 T20 Torx or Phillips screws). Carefully extract the speaker from the mounting location, noting any spacers or gaskets that may be present.

   Install new speaker
   Position the new speaker in the mounting location, ensuring any foam gaskets or spacers are properly seated. Align mounting holes and install mounting screws. Tighten screws in a cross pattern to ensure even pressure. Do not overtighten as speaker baskets can crack.

    Connect speaker electrical connector
    Plug the electrical connector into the new speaker until it clicks into place. Verify the connection is secure by gently tugging on the connector. Route wiring to avoid pinch points when door panel is reinstalled.

    Test speaker operation
    Before reinstalling door panel, turn ignition to ON position and test speaker operation through the audio system. Verify no rattles or distortion. Test at multiple volume levels and frequencies if possible.

    Reinstall door panel
    Reconnect all electrical connectors to the door panel switches. Position the door panel at the top edge of the door, engaging it with the window sill trim. Lower the panel into place and firmly press around the perimeter to engage all retaining clips. Reinstall all T20 Torx screws and the door pull handle trim with its T25 screw. Verify all clips are fully seated by checking for gaps between panel and door frame.

Reassembly

1. Ensure vapor barrier membrane (if present) is properly sealed to prevent water intrusion
2. Verify all door panel clips are fully engaged before installing screws
3. Test window operation after door panel installation to ensure no interference
4. Check that all switch functions (lock, window, mirror) operate correctly after reconnection

Verification

• Test speaker through full audio system frequency range at various volume levels
• Verify no rattles or vibrations from door panel at idle and while driving
• Confirm all door switches and controls function normally
• Check door panel fit and finish with no visible gaps or misalignment
• Verify window operates smoothly through full travel without binding
