Torque Converter Clutch Capacity Low

What this code means

The torque converter clutch is not transmitting the expected amount of torque. Slip is detected beyond the normal engagement tolerance.

Symptoms

• Check Engine Light
• TCC shudder at highway speed
• Slight RPM fluctuation at cruise
• Reduced fuel economy at highway
• Torque converter area overheating
• Vibration at steady throttle

Common causes

• Worn torque converter clutch lining
• Degraded transmission fluid
• TCC apply solenoid weak
• Internal seal leak
• TCC damper spring failure

Diagnostic steps

1. Monitor TCC slip PID at steady cruise
2. Check transmission fluid condition
3. Test TCC apply pressure
4. Inspect TCC solenoid operation
5. Perform stall speed test
