Preparation

  1. Park on level ground, place the vehicle in P, and engage the parking brake.

  6. Confirm both falcon doors are fully closed and will remain closed for the duration of the job — do not stand the vehicle in service mode with falcons cycling.

    Manually release the charge port door
    With 12V still connected (before disconnecting), open the charge port door from the touchscreen or fob so it sits in the open position. Then disconnect the 12V as described in preparation. If the 12V is already disconnected and the door is closed, use the manufacturer-specified manual release cable located inside the rear trunk trim (driver-side rear) — pull the cable to mechanically release the charge port door.
    Forcing the charge port door open without using the manual release will damage the actuator and surrounding paint.

    Open the rear liftgate. Remove the driver-side rear cargo trim panel using a plastic trim tool to release the retaining clips. Set the panel aside on a soft surface. This exposes the back of the charge port housing and the actuator.
