Fog Light Bulb

Replace the fog light bulb in a 2014-2019 Toyota Corolla by accessing the bulb assembly from the wheel well opening.

• H11 fog light bulb × 1 — H11 halogen bulb (55W)

Preparation

1. Park vehicle on level surface and engage parking brake
2. Place wheel chock behind rear wheel opposite to side being serviced
3. Turn off fog lights and allow to cool if recently used
4. Turn steering wheel fully to the left for driver side fog light, or fully right for passenger side fog light

Procedure

1. 1

   Access wheel well liner
   Locate the plastic wheel well liner at the front corner of the wheel opening. You will see several plastic push clips securing the liner to the fender. Identify the clips that need to be removed to fold back the liner section in front of the fog light assembly.

   Remove wheel well liner clips
   Remove 2-3 plastic push clips from the forward section of the wheel well liner. Use a flathead screwdriver or trim tool to carefully pry up the center pin of each clip first, then remove the entire clip. Store clips in a safe location for reinstallation.

   Fold back liner
   Gently pull the wheel well liner forward and away from the fender to expose the rear of the fog light assembly. You should now see the back of the fog light housing and the bulb connector.

   Disconnect bulb connector
   Locate the electrical connector on the back of the fog light bulb. Press the release tab on the connector and pull it straight off the bulb. Do not pull on the wiring harness.

   Remove bulb retaining ring
   The bulb is secured by a twist-lock ring or collar. Rotate the bulb assembly counterclockwise approximately 1/4 turn until it releases from the fog light housing.

   Remove old bulb
   Carefully pull the bulb straight out from the housing. Note the orientation of the bulb tabs for proper installation of the new bulb. Inspect the socket for any corrosion or damage.

   Install new bulb
   Using a clean cloth or gloves, handle the new H11 bulb only by the plastic base. Insert the new bulb into the fog light housing, aligning the tabs with the slots in the socket. Push the bulb firmly into place.

   Secure bulb
   Rotate the bulb clockwise approximately 1/4 turn to lock it into the fog light housing. Ensure the bulb is fully seated and secure.

   Reconnect electrical connector
   Push the electrical connector onto the bulb base until you hear or feel it click into place. Gently tug on the connector to verify it is fully seated.

    Reinstall wheel well liner
    Position the wheel well liner back into its original location. Reinstall all plastic push clips by inserting the clip body first, then pressing the center pin down until flush. Ensure the liner is properly secured and all clips are fully seated.

Reassembly

1. Verify all wheel well liner clips are fully installed and the liner is secure
2. Return steering wheel to center position
3. Remove wheel chock

Verification

• Turn on fog lights and verify the new bulb illuminates properly
• Check that fog light beam pattern is correct and aimed properly
• Verify no warning lights appear on the instrument cluster
• Inspect wheel well liner to ensure it is properly secured and not rubbing on tire
