Preparation

Procedure
- 1Locate the EVAP vent valveThe EVAP vent valve is mounted on or near the charcoal canister assembly, located underneath the vehicle on the driver's side, forward of the rear wheel. Lie down or use a creeper to access the area behind the fuel tank.
- 2Disconnect electrical connectorLocate the electrical connector on the EVAP vent valve. Press the locking tab and pull the connector straight off the valve. If the connector is difficult to access, you may need to reach from different angles or use needle-nose pliers to depress the tab.
- 3Disconnect vapor hosesThe vent valve has two vapor hoses connected. Identify the quick-connect fittings or hose clamps. For quick-connect fittings, press the release tabs and pull the hose straight off. For clamped hoses, use pliers to squeeze and slide the clamp away from the valve, then twist and pull the hose off. Note the orientation and routing of hoses for reinstallation.
