Wiring
5V Reference: Pink, Ground: Brown/White, Signal: Blue/Black
Expected Voltage Range
At Idle
1.1V to 1.6V
At Higher RPM
4.3V to 4.7V
Expected Pattern
Steady DC voltage with intake pulse ripple of 0.1-0.3V at idle, increasing smoothly with throttle opening
Known-Good Waveform
At idle (warm), MAP sensor shows 1.2-1.5V (approximately 28-35 kPa vacuum). With engine off, key on, should read 4.5-4.7V (atmospheric pressure, ~100 kPa). Signal shows regular intake pulse oscillations of 0.1-0.3V amplitude at idle. During acceleration, voltage rises smoothly to near 4.5V at WOT.
Common Failure Patterns
Voltage stuck at atmospheric pressure (4.5V+) with engine running, or reads 0-0.5V constantly
Cause: Plugged vacuum port, failed sensor diaphragm, circuit open or short, bad sensor ground
Diagnostic Tips
2GR-FKS uses MAP sensor for barometric reference and load calculation in conjunction with MAF. Normal idle vacuum is 17-20 inHg (1.3-1.5V). Check for intake manifold vacuum leaks if idle voltage is higher than 1.6V. Verify 5V reference voltage is stable under load.
