🚨 2026 Bentley Bentayga: Emergency Neutral

The 2026 Bentayga uses an electronic console-mounted shifter with electronic park lock requiring 12V power to release.

⚠️ Chock the wheels first — neutral means the car can roll. Set the parking brake while you work, never stand downhill of the vehicle, and try a 12-volt jump before any override: power fixes most stuck-in-park problems instantly.

The procedure

  1. Ensure the vehicle is on a flat surface with the parking brake engaged and wheels chocked
  2. Locate the shift lock override access—typically a small removable cap or panel near the shifter base on the console
  3. Use a flathead screwdriver or trim tool to carefully pry off the override cap
  4. Insert a key, screwdriver, or small tool into the exposed override slot and press down firmly
  5. While holding the override down, move the shifter to Neutral
  6. If the electronic parking brake cannot be released due to no power, the vehicle must be loaded onto a flatbed with the rear wheels off the ground or using skates
Shift-lock override location
Small cap near the shifter base on the center console, typically to the right or front of the shifter mechanism—exact location may vary by model year
With zero electrical power
With zero 12V power, you will need to use the shift lock override to access Neutral. The electronic parking brake will remain engaged and cannot be released without power, requiring flatbed transport with rear wheels lifted or on skates. Do not attempt to tow with wheels on the ground.
