🚨 2016 Bentley Continental GT: Emergency Neutral
The 2016 Continental GT uses a traditional center console-mounted automatic shifter lever with electronic shift-lock.

⚠️ Chock the wheels first — neutral means the car can roll. Set the parking brake while you work, never stand downhill of the vehicle, and try a 12-volt jump before any override: power fixes most stuck-in-park problems instantly.
The procedure
- Ensure the parking brake is firmly engaged and the vehicle is on level ground.
- Turn the ignition to ON position if battery power is available (do not start engine).
- Press and hold the brake pedal firmly.
- Locate the shift-lock override slot on the center console near the shifter base.
- Remove the small plastic cover/cap (if present) adjacent to the shifter base to access the override slot.
- Insert a small flathead screwdriver or the emergency key blade into the override slot.
- While pressing down on the override mechanism, press the shifter button and move the lever to Neutral.
- If no battery power exists, see no-power notes below.
Shift-lock override location
Small slot or button typically located on the console surface near the shifter base, often covered by a removable cap; exact position may be to the right or forward of the shifter depending on model year specifics.
With zero electrical power
With completely dead battery: The shift-lock override should still function mechanically. Use the emergency key blade or small screwdriver in the override slot while manually pressing the shifter release button. You may need to force the ignition to ACC position using the key to unlock the steering column. If the electronic shifter will not release at all with zero power, the vehicle must be transported on a flatbed with rear wheels OFF the ground (AWD model) or dolly under front wheels.
