The procedure
- Set the parking brake and chock the wheels
- Attempt to jump-start the 12V battery or connect a portable jump pack - the electronic shifter requires 12V power to operate
- Once power is restored, press the brake pedal and push the ignition button to ACC or ON mode
- Press the shift lever button and move to Neutral
- If the shift interlock is still blocked due to brake switch failure, locate the shift-lock override slot
- Look for a small rectangular slot or cap on the left side of the shifter base console trim
- Pry off the cover cap using a trim tool or flathead screwdriver
- Insert a small flathead screwdriver into the slot and press down while pressing the shifter button and moving to Neutral

CRITICAL: This shifter is fully electronic with no mechanical backup. Without 12V power, the shifter CANNOT be moved. You MUST jump the battery or provide external 12V power. If the battery is completely dead and cannot accept a jump, the vehicle must be dollied or flatbed-towed with the front wheels off the ground (FWD model) or all wheels off the ground (AWD model).
