🚨 2025 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1: Emergency Neutral
The 2025 Corvette ZR1 uses an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission with an electronic console shifter located in the center tunnel.

⚠️ Chock the wheels first — neutral means the car can roll. Set the parking brake while you work, never stand downhill of the vehicle, and try a 12-volt jump before any override: power fixes most stuck-in-park problems instantly.
The procedure
- Ensure the vehicle is on a flat surface and apply the parking brake firmly
- If the battery has any charge, turn the ignition to ON/RUN (press start button without brake pedal)
- Locate the shift lock override slot – it is a small square cap directly forward of the shifter base on the center console
- Use a flathead screwdriver or similar tool to pry off the override cap
- Insert the screwdriver or key into the override slot and press down firmly while simultaneously pressing the shifter button and moving the shifter to Neutral
- If successful, the shifter will move to Neutral and the vehicle can be rolled or loaded

With zero electrical power
With zero 12V power, the electronic shifter may not release even with the override. Jump starting the 12V battery is the most reliable solution. If unavailable, the vehicle should be flatbedded. The dual-clutch transmission should not be towed with drive wheels on the ground for extended distances.
