🚨 2024 Chevrolet Corvette: Emergency Neutral
The C8 Corvette uses an electronic console-mounted shifter lever with push-button Park and electronic shift-lock interlock.

⚠️ Chock the wheels first — neutral means the car can roll. Set the parking brake while you work, never stand downhill of the vehicle, and try a 12-volt jump before any override: power fixes most stuck-in-park problems instantly.
The procedure
- Ensure the vehicle is on a level surface and parking brake is engaged (if functional).
- Turn the ignition to ACC or ON position if battery power is available.
- Press and hold the brake pedal firmly.
- Locate the shift-lock override slot: it is a small rectangular slot with a cover cap located on the left side of the shifter base, toward the driver's side.
- Using a small flat-blade screwdriver or similar tool, pry off the cap covering the override slot.
- Insert the screwdriver or key into the override slot and press down firmly while simultaneously moving the shifter from Park to Neutral.
- If successful, the shifter will move to Neutral and the vehicle can roll.
- If flatbed towing, leave in Neutral with all wheels on the flatbed.

With zero electrical power
With zero 12V power, the electronic shifter will not function normally. Use the mechanical shift-lock override procedure above. The override mechanism is purely mechanical and does not require battery power. You may need to manually release the electronic parking brake via its override (consult owner's manual) or ensure wheels are chocked before attempting to shift.
