The 2013 Chrysler 200 uses a traditional console-mounted PRNDL shifter lever with electronic shift lock.

⚠️ Chock the wheels first — neutral means the car can roll. Set the parking brake while you work, never stand downhill of the vehicle, and try a 12-volt jump before any override: power fixes most stuck-in-park problems instantly.
The procedure
- Set the parking brake firmly
- Locate the shift lock override - it is a small rectangular slot covered by a plastic cap on the left side of the shifter base (driver's side of the shifter)
- Using a small flathead screwdriver or key, pry off the plastic cap covering the override slot
- Insert a small flathead screwdriver, pen, or similar tool into the override slot and press down firmly
- While holding the override tool down, press the brake pedal (if 12V power is available) or simply move the shifter out of Park while maintaining pressure on the override
- Shift to Neutral
- Remove the tool and replace the cap

With zero electrical power
With zero 12V power, the shift lock override still functions mechanically. Insert tool into override slot and press down while moving the shifter - no brake pedal press is required when using the mechanical override. The shifter will move freely to Neutral once the override is depressed.
