🚨 2006 Ferrari 575M Maranello: Emergency Neutral
The 575M Maranello with F1A automatic transmission uses a console-mounted sequential lever with electrohydraulic actuation and electronic shift lock.

⚠️ Chock the wheels first — neutral means the car can roll. Set the parking brake while you work, never stand downhill of the vehicle, and try a 12-volt jump before any override: power fixes most stuck-in-park problems instantly.
The procedure
- Ensure the vehicle is on a level surface and set the parking brake firmly
- If battery power is available, turn the ignition to ON position (engine does not need to run)
- Locate the shift lock override access - a small covered slot near the base of the shifter console
- Remove the small rubber or plastic cap covering the override slot
- Insert a small flathead screwdriver or the key into the override slot
- Press down firmly on the override while simultaneously pulling the shift lever toward you and moving to N
- If the electrohydraulic system has any residual pressure, the lever should release
- For complete hydraulic system failure, the transmission must be manually placed in neutral from underneath the vehicle by a qualified technician
Shift-lock override location
Small covered slot near the base of the shifter console on the right side, though exact location may vary - look for a small removable cap approximately 1-2 inches from the shifter base
With zero electrical power
With zero electrical power, the F1A electrohydraulic transmission system cannot function normally. The shift lock override may not work without power to energize solenoids. If the override does not release the shifter, the transmission will need to be manually shifted into neutral by accessing the transmission directly from under the vehicle - this requires lifting the car and manipulating the transmission range selector linkage, which should only be done by experienced Ferrari technicians.
