🚨 2016 Ferrari GTC4Lusso: Emergency Neutral
The 2016 Ferrari GTC4Lusso uses a dual-clutch automatic transmission with a traditional console-mounted shifter lever in a gated pattern.

⚠️ Chock the wheels first — neutral means the car can roll. Set the parking brake while you work, never stand downhill of the vehicle, and try a 12-volt jump before any override: power fixes most stuck-in-park problems instantly.
The procedure
- Ensure the parking brake is engaged.
- Turn the ignition to ACC or ON position if any battery power remains (press start button without depressing brake).
- Press and hold the brake pedal firmly.
- Locate the shift-lock override slot: it is a small rubber or plastic cap at the base of the shifter console, typically to the right side of the shifter boot near the base.
- Carefully pry off the cap using a trim tool or small flat-blade screwdriver.
- Insert a small rigid tool (key, screwdriver, or the override tool from the emergency kit) into the slot and press down firmly.
- While holding the override, move the shifter from Park into Neutral. You should feel the mechanical lock release.
- If the shifter does not move even with override pressed, verify that the ignition is in at least ACC mode; Ferrari interlocks may require minimal electrical power.
- Once in Neutral, release the override tool and remove it from the slot.
- The vehicle can now roll; ensure brakes or chocks are controlling movement.
Shift-lock override location
Small capped slot at the base of the shifter console, typically on the right side of the shifter boot; may be covered by a trim piece that must be carefully lifted.
With zero electrical power
With a completely dead 12V battery, the ignition cannot reach ACC mode and the shift interlock may remain locked even with the override tool engaged. Jump-start the battery using the terminals in the front luggage compartment: positive terminal is under a red protective cover near the front bulkhead, and the negative ground is a marked chassis point nearby. Provide enough power to enable ACC mode, then use the override procedure. If jump-starting is impossible, the vehicle must be loaded onto a flatbed with dollies under the rear wheels (all-wheel-drive model) or lifted entirely.
