🚨 2025 Ford Mustang Mach-E Rally: Emergency Neutral
The 2025 Mustang Mach-E Rally uses the same rotary dial gear selector on the center console as other Mach-E variants.

⚠️ Chock the wheels first — neutral means the car can roll. Set the parking brake while you work, never stand downhill of the vehicle, and try a 12-volt jump before any override: power fixes most stuck-in-park problems instantly.
The procedure
- Ensure the vehicle is on a level surface and apply the parking brake if functional.
- If the 12V battery has any charge, press the brake pedal and turn the rotary dial to N (neutral).
- If completely dead with no 12V power, the rotary shifter cannot electronically release the transmission - proceed to manual tow-mode preparation.
- Access the front trunk (frunk) by using the manual release under the front bumper driver's side - pull the mechanical cable.
- Connect an external 12V power source (jump pack or another vehicle) to the 12V battery terminals in the frunk.
- Once 12V power is restored, press the brake pedal and rotate the dial to N.
- If 12V power cannot be restored, the vehicle MUST be transported on a flatbed with all four wheels off the ground - the electric drivetrain cannot safely freewheel.
With zero electrical power
With zero 12V power, the rotary dial shifter is completely inoperative. You must either restore 12V power via the frunk battery (accessible through manual release cable under driver's side front bumper) or load the vehicle onto a flatbed. The Mach-E Rally does not have a mechanical shift-lock override.
⚡ EV / hybrid warning
CRITICAL: The Mustang Mach-E Rally is an all-wheel-drive EV and MUST be transported on a flatbed with all four wheels off the ground. Towing with any wheels on the ground will cause severe damage to the electric drive units. Do not attempt to tow this vehicle with a wheel-lift or dolly. The Rally variant has unique suspension tuning but the same towing restrictions.
