🚨 2026 Jaguar I-PACE: Emergency Neutral
The 2026 I-PACE uses a rotary gear selector dial (JaguarDrive Selector) that rises from the center console when the vehicle is powered on.

⚠️ Chock the wheels first — neutral means the car can roll. Set the parking brake while you work, never stand downhill of the vehicle, and try a 12-volt jump before any override: power fixes most stuck-in-park problems instantly.
The procedure
- Ensure the vehicle is on a level surface and apply the parking brake if functional.
- Attempt to power on the vehicle by pressing the brake pedal and pushing the Start/Stop button - even with a weak 12V battery, brief power may allow shifter operation.
- If the rotary dial rises, rotate it to the Neutral (N) position.
- If the vehicle has no power and the dial will not rise or respond, locate the manual gear selector release.
- Remove the cupholder assembly in the center console forward of the gear selector by pulling it straight up.
- Underneath, you will find a small yellow or white manual release tab/strap near the base of the gear selector mechanism.
- Pull the manual release tab firmly upward or toward the rear of the vehicle while attempting to rotate the gear selector to Neutral.
- With the selector in Neutral, the vehicle can be rolled or winched onto a flatbed.
- DO NOT attempt to flat-tow - the I-PACE must be transported on a flatbed with all wheels off the ground.

With zero electrical power
With zero 12V power, the rotary dial will not rise and electronic shifting is impossible. You must use the manual release tab under the cupholder to mechanically disengage the park pawl. Consider jump-starting the 12V battery temporarily if available, as this is the easiest method to get the vehicle into Neutral.

CRITICAL: The I-PACE is a pure electric vehicle and must NEVER be flat-towed with any wheels on the ground. The electric motors remain connected to the wheels and will generate damaging voltage if rotated. Transport only on a flatbed with all four wheels off the ground. Towing with drive wheels on the ground will cause severe drivetrain damage not covered by warranty.
