🚨 2016 Lamborghini Huracan: Emergency Neutral
The 2016 Huracan has a console-mounted automatic shifter with electronic controls and a mechanical shift-lock override.

⚠️ Chock the wheels first — neutral means the car can roll. Set the parking brake while you work, never stand downhill of the vehicle, and try a 12-volt jump before any override: power fixes most stuck-in-park problems instantly.
The procedure
- Apply the parking brake and chock all wheels securely.
- Find the small plastic cap covering the shift-lock override near the shifter base on the center console (typically left side or forward of the shifter).
- Carefully pry off the override cap with a flathead screwdriver or trim removal tool.
- Insert a small flathead screwdriver or emergency key blade into the exposed override slot.
- Press down firmly on the override mechanism while attempting to press the brake pedal if any power exists.
- Move the shifter to neutral while maintaining pressure on the override release.
- If the battery is completely dead, keep pressing the override down and manually shift through the gate to neutral without brake pedal input.
- Replace the plastic cap after successfully shifting.
Shift-lock override location
Small plastic cap on center console near shifter base, generally positioned on the left side or forward area of the shifter gate; visual confirmation recommended.
With zero electrical power
The electronic shift-by-wire system requires 12V power to function normally, but the mechanical shift-lock override works independently. With no power, use only the override release—do not force the shifter without engaging it. Key position is not a factor for the mechanical override when power is absent.
