⚠️ Chock the wheels first — neutral means the car can roll. Set the parking brake while you work, never stand downhill of the vehicle, and try a 12-volt jump before any override: power fixes most stuck-in-park problems instantly.
The procedure
- Ensure the vehicle is on a flat surface and chock all wheels before attempting any procedure
- If 12V power is available, turn the vehicle to ON mode by pressing the brake pedal and touching the start button
- With power on, press and hold the brake pedal firmly
- Push the gear selector stalk downward to engage Neutral
- If the shift interlock is preventing shifting, locate the small shift-lock override access panel on the lower center console area near the gear selector base
- Use a small flathead screwdriver or trim tool to carefully pry off the override access cover
- Insert a key, small screwdriver, or similar tool into the override slot and press down while attempting to shift to Neutral
- Once in Neutral, the vehicle can be pushed or winched slowly for short distances
- For transport, always use a flatbed trailer - NEVER tow with any wheels on the ground

With zero electrical power
With completely dead 12V battery, the electronic gear selector will not function. Jump-start the 12V system (located in the frunk) using the jump-start terminals, or access the manual release mechanism documented in the owner's manual. The Gravity may require specialized service access for zero-power neutral engagement.
⚡ EV / hybrid warning
CRITICAL: The Lucid Gravity Dream Edition is a pure electric vehicle with no transmission in the traditional sense. The drive units remain mechanically engaged unless specifically placed in Neutral or tow mode. NEVER tow this vehicle with wheels on the ground - severe drivetrain damage will result. Always use a flatbed. Even in Neutral, towing distance should be minimized. Consult the owner's manual for the specific tow-mode procedure if equipped.
