🚨 2019 Morgan Plus Six: Emergency Neutral
The 2019 Plus Six uses a BMW-sourced 8-speed ZF automatic transmission with a traditional console-mounted PRND shifter lever and electronic shift lock.

⚠️ Chock the wheels first — neutral means the car can roll. Set the parking brake while you work, never stand downhill of the vehicle, and try a 12-volt jump before any override: power fixes most stuck-in-park problems instantly.
The procedure
- Ensure the parking brake is firmly engaged and the vehicle is on level ground
- Turn the ignition to ACC or ON position if 12V power is available
- Firmly depress and hold the brake pedal
- Locate the shift lock override slot (small rectangular opening, may have a removable cap) on the left side of the shifter base toward the driver's side
- Remove the cap if present and insert a small flathead screwdriver or key into the override slot
- Press down firmly on the override while simultaneously moving the shifter from Park to Neutral
- If the ignition cannot be powered on, use the override method with firm pressure on the brake pedal for mechanical leverage
Shift-lock override location
Small rectangular slot on the left side of the shifter base console, between the shifter and the center tunnel, may be covered by a small cap
With zero electrical power
With zero 12V power, the shift lock override functions mechanically. Apply firm brake pedal pressure while using the override button. The BMW-derived ZF transmission system has a mechanical release that does not require electrical power, but sufficient force on the brake pedal helps activate the interlock mechanism physically.
