- Ensure the parking brake is firmly set and wheels are chocked.
- Turn the ignition key to the ACC or ON position if you have any battery power.
- Locate the shift lock override access on the console near the shifter—look for a small rectangular cap or slot on the left side or front of the shifter base.
- Using a small flathead screwdriver, pry off the plastic cap if present.
- Insert the screwdriver or similar tool into the override slot and press down firmly to release the shift lock solenoid.
