🚨 2025 Porsche Macan S: Emergency Neutral
The 2025 Macan S is all-electric and features a compact monostable center console gear selector that returns to center after each selection.

⚠️ Chock the wheels first — neutral means the car can roll. Set the parking brake while you work, never stand downhill of the vehicle, and try a 12-volt jump before any override: power fixes most stuck-in-park problems instantly.
The procedure
- Ensure the vehicle is on a flat surface and apply the parking brake firmly
- Attempt to power on the high-voltage system by pressing the brake pedal and pushing the start button
- If the 12V system has power (displays illuminate), press the brake pedal and tap the gear selector forward or backward to engage drive mode, then select Neutral from the center display screen
- If the 12V auxiliary battery is completely dead, the gear selector will not function electronically—external 12V power must be supplied via jump-start points in the front trunk before the transmission can be shifted
- After supplying external power, press brake and use the gear selector to engage Neutral
With zero electrical power
The all-electric Macan has no mechanical shift-lock override. The gear selector is fully electronic and requires 12V auxiliary battery power to function. Jump-start the 12V system using the terminals in the front trunk (frunk): connect positive to the marked terminal and negative to a ground point. Once 12V power is restored, you can select Neutral electronically. Without any power, the vehicle cannot be shifted and must be transported on a flatbed.
⚡ EV / hybrid warning
The 2025 Macan S is a dedicated EV platform. Always transport on a flatbed with all four wheels off the ground. Do NOT tow with any wheels on the ground as the electric motor(s) will generate voltage when rotated, potentially causing damage to the high-voltage system and creating a safety hazard. If you must roll the vehicle a short distance for loading, the parking brake must be released electronically (requiring 12V power).
