🚨 2022 Porsche Panamera 4 E-Hybrid: Emergency Neutral
The 2022 Panamera 4 E-Hybrid uses a console-mounted PDK (dual-clutch) shifter lever with electronic shift-lock interlocked with the brake pedal.

⚠️ Chock the wheels first — neutral means the car can roll. Set the parking brake while you work, never stand downhill of the vehicle, and try a 12-volt jump before any override: power fixes most stuck-in-park problems instantly.
The procedure
- Ensure the vehicle is on a level surface and apply the parking brake firmly.
- Turn the ignition to the ON position (push start button without brake pedal) if 12V battery power is available.
- Locate the shift-lock override slot: it is a small rectangular slot covered by a plastic cap on the left side of the shifter base, toward the driver's side.
- Use a flat-blade screwdriver or similar tool to pry off the small plastic cap covering the override slot.
- Insert the screwdriver or key into the override slot and press down firmly while simultaneously pulling the shifter back toward N (Neutral).
- The shifter should release from Park and move to Neutral—hold the override tool down throughout the shift motion.
- If the vehicle has no electrical power at all, follow the 'noPowerNotes' procedure below.

With zero electrical power
With a completely dead 12V battery, the PDK shifter may remain locked. You must either jump-start the 12V battery to gain minimal electrical power for the shift-lock solenoid, or access the manual transmission release procedure: consult the owner's manual for emergency towing instructions, which may require placing the transmission in a neutral tow mode via the underbody access point. In most cases, flatbed towing is required.
⚡ EV / hybrid warning
HYBRID VEHICLE WARNING: The Panamera 4 E-Hybrid has both an electric motor and gasoline engine. Even with the ignition off, high-voltage systems may be active. Do NOT attempt to work under the vehicle or access high-voltage components. If flatbed towing, ensure the vehicle is in Neutral or tow mode. For long-distance towing or if Neutral cannot be engaged, flatbed towing with all wheels off the ground is REQUIRED to prevent damage to the PDK transmission and electric drive components.
