🚨 2010 Porsche Panamera 4S: Emergency Neutral
The 2010 Panamera 4S uses a center console-mounted electronic shift lever (Tiptronic S selector) with P-R-N-D positions.

⚠️ Chock the wheels first — neutral means the car can roll. Set the parking brake while you work, never stand downhill of the vehicle, and try a 12-volt jump before any override: power fixes most stuck-in-park problems instantly.
The procedure
- Ensure the vehicle is on a level surface and apply the parking brake firmly.
- Turn the ignition to position II (ON) if 12V power is available (do not start the engine).
- Press and hold the brake pedal firmly.
- Locate the shift lock override - there is a small rectangular cover on the left side of the shifter base on the center console.
- Use a flathead screwdriver or the emergency key blade to carefully pry off the override cover.
- Insert the emergency key blade or a small screwdriver into the override slot and press down firmly.
- While holding the override down, move the shifter from Park to Neutral.
- Release the override tool and remove it from the slot.
- The vehicle can now be rolled or winched onto a flatbed.

With zero electrical power
With a completely dead 12V battery, the mechanical shift lock override still functions. Access the override slot on the left side of the shifter base (under the cover), insert the key blade or tool, press down, and move the shifter to Neutral. Note that the electronic parking brake may not release without power - you may need to use the emergency parking brake release procedure detailed in the owner's manual, or the vehicle may need to be winched onto the flatbed with rear wheels locked.
