🚨 2015 Porsche Panamera Turbo S: Emergency Neutral
The 2015 Panamera uses a console-mounted automatic shifter lever with electronic shift lock that requires brake pedal pressure and ignition on to move from Park.

⚠️ Chock the wheels first — neutral means the car can roll. Set the parking brake while you work, never stand downhill of the vehicle, and try a 12-volt jump before any override: power fixes most stuck-in-park problems instantly.
The procedure
- Ensure the parking brake is firmly engaged and wheels are chocked.
- Turn the ignition to ON position (or ACC if battery has minimal charge) - this is required for the shift lock system.
- Locate the small rectangular shift lock override slot on the left side of the shifter base, near the console trim.
- Remove the small plastic cap covering the override slot by prying gently with a flat tool.
- Insert a small flathead screwdriver or the key blade into the override slot and push down firmly.
- While holding the override down, press the brake pedal (if possible) and move the shifter from Park to Neutral.
- If the brake pedal is inoperative or there is insufficient power, continue holding the override down while firmly pulling the shifter to Neutral - it may require significant force.
- Release the override tool and verify the shifter remains in Neutral before attempting to move the vehicle.

With zero electrical power
With completely dead battery, the override slot can still be used mechanically. You may need to use the mechanical key to unlock the steering column first. The shifter may be very stiff without power assist, requiring firm pressure while holding the override. In some cases, charging the battery with a jump pack for even 5 minutes can make the process significantly easier.
